Moses Coleman was born on 12-25-1827 in Georgia. He was a Confederate soldier who was shot in the leg. His homestead was in Clay County, FL. His wife, Louisa Moody Coleman, was born on 10-26-1833. Their children were: John, Mose, Jenny, William, Aaron, Rose, Isaum, Ruben, and Liddy.
The family records were compiled by my grandfather, Ned Coleman.
According to Knute Coleman, Moses and Louisa are buried at Blue Pond Cemetery, located in land now belonging to Camp Blanding. Cemetery records confirm this location.
Moses Coleman was enlisted in the 26th Georgia Regiment, Company F (Ware Guards) during the civil war. He was wounded in the Second Battle of Manassas (called Second Bull Run by the Yankees) in Virginia. He was listed among those wounded in the battle on August 28, 1862 (see newspaper article from the time below).
Moses and Louisa Coleman are paternal great-great grandparents of Paul Coleman.
